    from HMC <-> frame connections, it is irrelevant, once you make sure that they keep communicating at the same network segment (or, in other words, at the same firewall side).

    2. VIO behind firewall

    for instance, a VIO server behind a firewall works exactly as a common server behind the firewall. An outage, from customer perspective, will only happen if you move cables from adapters being used on SEA from both VIO Servers at same time. Otherwise, no outage is expected.
