    Have you patched version 6 to the latest (6.1.3 plus fixes) as I seem to recall there was an issue with the console reolution etc at one release, cannot quite remember where this was though as it is a while ago now.

    Yes. I had applied the latest fixes. I even reinstalled from scratch several times. Finally, I called IBM support and they have a work-around that they will lead you through which involves changing the /etc/X11/XF86Config file. I also upgraded two other HMCs and did not have the screen resolution problem.
