I would like to do backup of HMC (lets take gui way) with specific name of file.

For example, once i go to Back up management console data  under HMC Gui i have following fields to filled:

--> Back up to mounted remote system
--> Remote server, Resource and what is interesting me is Description.

in Description i have added info what i want to have in filename, but no result...

I would like to do backup and add some information into file name.

Now HMC creating file:

HMCBackup_20170502.101630.tgz

i would like to add more information to file name.

How can i do that?

and second question, what for is Description ?

No we can't add / modify the file name, since it is the HMC generated based on time Stamp.

What is the importance of description and how to see the details?

Importance of description is to differentiate across the backups taken.

The below screen shot will give the details of giving description while creating backup and how to view it in later point of time.
