First of all the LizardFS client relies on FUSE (https://github.com/libfuse/libfuse), searching the web does not give me a reliable answer whether FUSE is available for AIX - it is certainly possible to port it and such efforts were initiated, but I can not see an outcome.

So, how should we start the project as frugally as possible.

Yes as far as I know FUSE is not available on AIX.

In this community we can provide help related to queries to AIX and open source porting.

Also there are lot of open source tools available on AIX toolbox that can help you with your porting.

Thanks for asking! After an initial analysis it appeared to us it is a task requiring more in-depth AIX knowledge we are able to acquire within the budget. Right now we went with NFS access that is much slower than the native access would be, but works.

So alas, right now we are not pursuing this noble goal.
