Messages occupy space in queue file on disk. Persistent messages, transactional events, object attribute changes … occupy space in the log file on disk. A queue with zero messages only contains the queue definition, and poses no performance issues.
One or more full queues will likely cause operational issues for your applications, but NOT performance issues. Similarly, insufficient file system space will likely cause operational issues, not performance issues.
Unused file system space does not impact performance.
Did I misunderstand your question?

Subject: Having more space allocated to /var/mqm/log and /var/mqm/qmgrs will have performace issue
Hello All,
I allocated space to IBM mq file system - thinking about future development and not knowing about the transaction will take place.
after considering the number of queues and transaction I needed less space.
Will I see any performance issue.
Thanks
