handshake_failure & socketInputStream.read Error on new Db2 Client

  • 1.  handshake_failure & socketInputStream.read Error on new Db2 Client

    Hi,

    We already had DB2 Client 10.5 installed in our SAS Red Hat Linux servers and we are able to launch the clpplus from the command line to connect to the DB2 Cloud and also from the SAS client machine , we are able to launch clpplus using SAS function.

    To launch the SAS client , we defined the DB2 environment variable to point to DB2 10.5 profile ( db2cins).

    Now recently we have installed a new DB2 client (dsclient_v11.1.4.5) in the same SAS linux server and tried to launch clpplus from the command line after changing the profile command as well the environment variable for SAS to connect to the new db2 client. We are successfully able to launch clpplus from command line but when we launch via a SAS client, we are getting the below error message

    [jcc][t4][2030][11211][4.25.23] A communication error occurred during operations
    on the connection's underlying socket, socket input stream,
    or socket output stream. Error location: Reply.fill() - socketInputStream.read
    (-1). Message: Received fatal alert: handshake_failure. ERRORCODE=-4499,
    SQLSTATE=08001

    DB250018E: A connection attempt during the CLPPlus environment start sequence
    failed. The CLPPlus environment failed to start.

    For the SAS session , all the environmental variables are correctly pointing to new DB2 client (11.1) , but dont know what is causing the above issue.

    Could anybody please help me out. Thanks in advance.
