Hi,

Im unable to install gzip. getting below error. please help me with rpm package that will work.

rpm -ivh gzip-1.12-3.src.rpm

Hi Mohan,

Please state:

1. The operating system?
2. The OS version?
3. Where did  you get gzip-1.12-3.src.rpm?
4. Do you realise the ".src." means you are installing the source code?
5. The install of the software source code seems to have worked!

I would download gzip code package this for (guessing this is recent AIX) from 

https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/aix-toolbox-open-source-software-downloads-alpha

• click on the RPM link and NOT the SRPM link.
