New to this group so forgive me if this has already been asked and answered, but wondering what people do for monitoring your Guardium environment.   Just trying to get some reports so I can determine what is 'normal' so I can start to determine when there might be something wrong.

Any best practices from IBM or advice from other people on what works or does not work for them would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Troy

    Hi Troy,

Are you familiar with Guardium's deployment health views?

The Deployment Health Dashboard provides an at-a-glance summary of any issues found across a Guardium deployment.
The Deployment Health Topology provides a visualization of the entire Guardium environment that is connected to a central manager.
The Deployment Health Table shows a tabular version of some of the same information as the deployment health topology.

The deployment health views are available from a central manager. In the Guardium user interface, they're found under the Manage menu > System View submenu.

The Guardium Knowledge Center has more information on these views. Here are the direct links for Guardium v11.1:

    Hi Troy,
To monitor your Guardium environment, start by setting baseline reports to define normal activity. Like tracking trends in health chronicles, consistent monitoring helps detect anomalies early. IBM recommends automated alerts, scheduled reports, and AI-driven insights for better threat detection.

Great point! Establishing baseline reports is definitely crucial - it's like creating a "normal range" for your system behavior, which makes spotting anomalies much easier. Scheduled reporting and automated alerts have helped us significantly reduce response time in security operations.

Just like how consistent data tracking improves outcomes in other fields - for example, checking vehicle history by license plate ensures road safety and legal compliance in Colombia - having real-time insights in Guardium allows for more proactive security measures. AI-driven analysis just takes it a step further by learning patterns we might miss manually.

    Thanks for the solid reminder!

I am totally agreeing with you. But there was a confusion too.

If we are focusing on our child health, we should also track there free time. Where are they spending it? Are they wasting it or spending it on  goof things like educational games like:

    • Multiplication Space Race
    • Earth Day Word Search
    • Lightbot (iOS and Amazon)
    • Toca Boca iOS+Android
    • DragonBox Numbers
    • Bedtime Math (iOS and Android)

    Hello

You can start with the Disk Utilization Report, which allows you to see how much disk space the collector(s) have and to determine if your policy is storing unnecessary data.

On the Central Manager, the Deployment Health Table is a very good place to start for overall Guardium health.
