    Hi,

    I want to enable docker support in GDE DSM. 

    I am using UBUNTU 18.04 on which docker is installed and containers are running.


    Request to help me out on how to enable docker support on GDE.

    Just for clarification, are you looking to run the DSM inside the container?

    Hi,

    No, I want to protect mongodb data which is running inside docker container.

    I have a DSM server setup on a seperate Esxi server.

    A VTE agent on my Ubuntu host machine on which this docker container is running.

    Thanks for the clarification.

    Docker support is enabled when you register the agent.  You can kick off the registration process with the ./register_host command and it will ask you if you want LDT support and you should say no, when it asks for Docker Support you should select yes.

    Hi,
    Actually during registering the agent I get option for LDT support, Efficient Storage support  but there is no option for Docker Support. I am guessing may be I don't have the license for docker support.
    If that is the case that I don't have license then can you please tell me how can I check and confirm. And what is the procedure to get the license for docker.
    If there is any other issue that  I am not gettting the option for Docker then request to please tell.

    Hi Ved,

    Have you checked the compatibility matrix to ensure docker is compatibility with your version of Ubunto? Also what version of agent and DSM are you running?

    I have tested many times on RHEL 7/8 and I always get an option to enable docker but I am running the 4.0.0.3 DSM. I have not tried on Ubunto.

    4.0.0.3 Equivalent to Vormetric Data Security Release 6.4

    VTE  vee-fs-6.3.1-52-ubuntu18-x86_64.bin

    OS is Ubutnu 18.04

    I want to enable docker support. Is there any way that I can enable docker on my Ubuntu os.
