Guardium 11.2 fail-over and load-balancing

  • 1.  Guardium 11.2 fail-over and load-balancing

    Hello.
Guardium v10 and later got a new functionality called load-balancing that uses Central Manager to balance DB traffic between managed collectors. Does the old method (when we don't use CM to balance) work in Guardium 11.2? I mean the method when we just add ip of collectors to Guardium hosts configuration in S-TAP configuration work.  As far as I remember we could set Guardium to set traffic to all collectors from Guardium hosts list ot send it only to Primary and only in case of fail-over send it to Secondary.
If using CM to balance the traffic what will Guardium do if primary and secondary collectors have different policies installed and load-balance takes place? WIll it apply the primary collector policy to secondary collector of Guardium doesn't check the policies in that case?

    Hi,

CM load balancer does not balance traffic - it is responsible for switching agents between collectors base on they performance and availability.

The manual agent configuration is still available.
