I have a copy of Oliver Masse's sargraph script, but it don't like AIX 5L with the extra columns and the "System configuration" line. If nobody else has cracked this nut, then I will spend the time to modify the sargraph.ksh script. I just don't want to re-invent the wheel if it has already been invented.

    Thanks to all who respond,

Unless you are really bored or want to know gnuplot first hand.

    Find nmon at http://www-941.haw.ibm.com/collaboration/wiki/display/WikiPtype/nmon

    or

    The article at http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/eserver/articles/analyze_aix/

    Thanks for your help!

The bad news: costs money (although you get a 30 days trial licence for free). Good news is that for partitioned systems (p570 in our case) you need only one licence per system, number of partitions doesn't matter.

    Any direction is appreciated.

It sounds like the nmon sampling interval does not match the sampling interval assumed by the rrdtool. Check the time stamps in rrd_create file and rrd_graph files (both created created by nmon2rrd).

The sample file is called test.nmon.gz
Find it below the nmon2rrd download.

    Most failures are
    1) not capturing enough data snapshots (try 200)and
    2) not checking the log files (xxxx.log) for errors

Please remember this is a working example rather than a product.
If you find problems or errors you need to work a solution yourself by looking at the nmon2rrd source code, checking the nmon data file and learning up on rrdtool.
