    Currently gpfs is not supported in 6.1. It should be supported in 6 to 8 months as products such as gpfs ( or any higher end functions) are not supported right away in a new OS release.

    Just so folks are clear: GPFS 3.1 may run on AIX 6.1, but it's not supported. Only GPFS Version 3.2 is supported on AIX 6.1. You take your chances running in an unsupported configuration.
