    And about CTDB, work is already in progress to provide Samba with CTDB and ADS(Active Directory services) support. Soon it will be available in AIX Toolbox

    Make sure you link /opt/freeware/lib/WINBIND.so into /usr/lib/security. The rpm won't do it for you.

    # ls -l /usr/lib/security/WINBIND
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root system 28 Oct  9 15:59 /usr/lib/security/WINBIND -> /opt/freeware/lib/WINBIND.so

    followed by these entries

    In /usr/lib/security/methods.cfg

    WINBIND:
            program = /usr/lib/security/WINBIND

    In /etc/security/user

    under default

    SYSTEM = "WINBIND"

    registry = WINBIND

    A second problem is the changing of a text file with WordPad under Windows 10. The text file is corrupt after reopening amd after the locking period has expired. Some characters are missing in the file. But if you wait even longer, these characters are completely there again.

    So, this restriction of directory conflict is coming from the rpm newer version that is 4. RPM-4 is a bit more strict than RPM-3. We have already recognized this issue with some of the packages and we are working on it to resolve.

    Some of the packages are already fixed and uploaded and we are working on others.

    Looking into your issue, you can, for now, use --force option as a work around. Just go to "/tmp/yum-20180526140842" directory and give the following command:

    rpm -ivh *.rpm --force

    This will install everything and nothing will be broken.

    Optional: After installing, one thing you can do is, update libjpeg from this location: ftp://ausgsa.ibm.com/projects/a/aixtoolbox/toolbox/aix/freeSoftware/aixtoolbox/RPMS/ppc/libjpeg/libjpeg-6b-7.aix6.1.ppc.rpm

    using rpm -Uvh libjpeg-6b-7.aix6.1.ppc.rpm command.

    This will update your libjpeg to 6b-7 version, which is fixed for above issue. This will resolve half of your error (which is coming from libjpeg), you have pasted above.

    Thanks
