Kendrick, you should continue to use RECEIVE ORDER. We have not yet implemented that function into z/OSMF.

Hello,
Recently upgraded to 3.1, wondering if this SMP/E RECEIVE capability has been enabled in z/OSMF with 3.1 or if we should continue with RECEIVE ORDER.
Question was prompted when trying to receive the latest 3.1 RSU through z/OSMF.

Alan, z/OSMF currently does not provide an SMP/E RECEIVE capability. It is in our backlog to add that function. In the meantime you must continue to perform RECEIVE as you do today, which hopefully is with RECEIVE ORDER, on a regular cadence. My personal recommendation is to automate submitting your RECEIVE ORDER for CONTENT(ALL) job nightly. This is simple to do with cron or similar.

I'm still getting used to using z/OSMF for software installs. I've done a few, now, but I'm trying to figure out how to apply maintenance post-install.
I've been searching through the z/OSMF applications, but I haven't found anything for receiving maintenance from IBM. Is there a z/OSMF process to do a RECEIVE ORDER for recommended maintenance or anything like that? Or for receiving individual PTFs to fix an issue? Or to receive an RSU?
I know there is a Software Update application in z/OSMF, but from what I can tell, it only applies maintenance that has already been received.
Or is that supposed to be done by submitting a batch job from TSO/ISPF, like we did pre-z/OSMF? If so, it seems like that is a missing process in z/OSMF.
Thank you,
