    Posted 10 days ago

We're delighted to announce the general availability (eGA) of the following releases:

    • IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) 9.5.0.1

    • IBM Operational Decision Manager on Certified Kubernetes (ODM/K8S) 9.5.0.1
    • IBM Decision Runtime for z/OS (DRZ) 9.5.0.1

Key Highlights & Business Value / Release Overview:

    • ODM 9.5.0.1 and DRZ 9.5.0.1 are first and foremost fix packs, that is, a consolidated set of fixes and security updates.

    • ODM 9.5.0.1 also introduces several meaningful enhancements designed to improve productivity, performance, and integration capabilities:

      • Restored editing modes in the rule editor (wrap, hierarchical) and automatic fit-to-screen mode in the decision table editor

      • Improved navigation in Rule Designer ruleflow editor

      • Scalable UI to manage project security settings

      • Reduced memory footprint for project export

      • Optimized database cache performance

      • Fine tuning Horizontal Pod Autoscaling

      • Configuring topology spread constraints

      • Rolling updates for ODM deployments

      • Defining the behavior of the Decision Server components

      • Combined with the decision assistant in the latest IBM Decision Intelligence SaaS release (December 2025), ODM 9.5.0.1 enables business analysts to transform business policies into object models, rules and ruleflow, and create a new decision service in Decision Center with that generated content.

      • Enhanced user experience for rule authoring:

      • Faster and more efficient Decision Center:

      • Internal improvements in Decision Engine

      • Advanced Kubernetes Configuration Options:

      • Last but not least, ODM 9.5.0.1 also simplifies the exposure of runtime decision services as agents using Model Context Protocol (MCP). This builds on the recent delivery of the ODM MCP server as a public asset (https://github.com/DecisionsDev/ibm-odm-decision-mcp-server).

    • ODM 9.5.0.1 also adds supports for:

      • Liberty 25.0.0.9

      • Installation Manager 1.10

      • Ubuntu build of OpenJDK

      • OpenShift 4.20 and 4.19

      • Kubernetes 1.28

    • DRZ 9.5.0.1 also brings new important features:

      • Accelerated customer onboarding: Enabled future ADS on z/OS users to quickly get started with auto-generated client applications tailored to their rule sets.

      • Simplified architecture: Built on major performance gains from DRZ-9.5.0.0 by removing unnecessary zRES dependencies-one address space for all work, delivering simplicity and efficiency.

      • Improved resilience: Enhanced the HealthChecker tool and added enforcement to prevent partial upgrades that have caused confusion in the past. DRZ is now protecting customers from their own potential mishaps!

      • Strengthened security: Added authentication for HTDS endpoints while maintaining default behaviors to avoid accidental downtime.

      • Performance validation: You studied ADS runtime performance on z/OS to ensure it meets expectations.

      • Customer engagement: new educational and promotional material through zTrials, allowing customers to explore DRz without installation.
