@Lubomir J my team is using Motio PI for user/group/role maintenance. While it is a bit pricey, it saves us a lot of time. The feature that I use most is "User Preferences" which is only available in the paying, Pro version. It has its own quirks but since I use it, I have a way of getting Cognos admin work done quickly. Tasks like: copy all groups of one user to a new one, we have by object group permissions in Cognos, thus looking at what groups a user is in, I know what that person has access to in the app. I recommend you to try it, I think the company is willing to give you a 30 day trial in some cases.

for a long time we were facing with groups/roles management in Cognos. Finally we found BI Users Capabilities tool which was provided by IBM. It works fine and you was able to get information about capabilities, group or role. Unfortunatelly this tool is no longer supported for CA. Despite of it works with Java 1.7 but after upgrade it doesn't work.
How do you handle with the task when you need to find out the information about the capabilities, groups and roles which are assigned to the user?
