Can anybody tell that in which scenarios we use file polling,which scenarios we use ftp?

File polling: the disk volume must be mounted in some way such that the drive/directory appears to be a local volume
FTP: when the remote files are available via FTP
Hi, Can we say it as an FTP polling if a file polling port(directory) is availed to everybody…??
FTP is a specific protocol.
The file polling port does not support FTP. Therefore, the file polling port could not be considered to be nor called “FTP polling.”
