  • 1.  From WAS6.1 to WAS8.5 - Websphere Studio Development

    Hi guys!
I want to migrate to WAS6.1 to WAS8.5. My developer group used Websphere Studio Development Client Advanced based on Eclipse 3.2.0.

Can I use this tool for develop apps for WAS8.5? What should I install? Is there a plugin for my eclipse to WAS8.5?

I read about IBM  Websphere Developer tools but I don't understand if that works with my enviroment. Which are the steps should I follow?

    Hope you can help me,

You can download WebSphere Developer Tools (WDT) eclipse plugin and WAS for developers to create a complete eclipse based WAS dev environment.  If you are doing J2EE dev this may be all you need.

RAD adds a lot of other great features like code profiling, wizards to do JCA development to EIS like CICS, etc.

You can get information on WDT here -> www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/ws/...

WDT Works with Eclipse 4.2.1 and 3.7.2.  See this link for download and installation instructions -> www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/blo...
