  • 1.  fio for storage performance measurements

    Hi 

    we are looking for an way to compare the storage performance for different plattforms.

    For Linux on x86 and ppc64le we found that fio is a good tool to compare.
    Actually there is no fio in the open source tools for AIX repo

    Is it possible to provide fio there.

    Hi Sascha,

     

    Sorry for delay in replying.

    The latest fio tool is using some apis those are not present in AIX and need some work to fix that.

    Also I am not sure if there are many users who would need fio so it is not there in our plan as of now.

    But I have tried to build fio v2.0 and that is compiling easily on AIX.

    May be you can just download source of 2.0 from https://git.kernel.dk/cgit/fio/snapshot/fio-2.0.tar.gz and compile it.

    I used gcc compiler and gmake to compile and it worked

     

    Downlaod from https://git.kernel.dk/cgit/fio/snapshot/fio-2.0.tar.gz  and untar on AIX.

     

    # export CC=gcc

    # gmake
