  • 1.  Filtered out cases not showing as crossed out in SPSS 28 for Mac

    Hello,

I have been working with SPSS 28 for PC but due to getting a new computer I switched to SPSS 28 for Mac, which I purchased as a faculty version from Yale University. I noticed that when I filter out cases they do not show up as crossed out on the line numbers of the data view of the program, which they do on the PC version of SPSS 28 (and also did on my old now defunct Mac, version SPSS 24). However, while the line numbers are not crossed out the filtered out cases will not be included in the statistical analyses, which is correct. I have rather complex filters. So, I need to be able to do a visual check if I coded everything correctly by looking at some cases before running some of my analyses.

Could you please let me know how to fix this problem.

    Thank you,

    Betti

    Hi @Bettina Viereck

What version of 28.0 are you on?  IBM SPSS Statistics 28.0.0.0 introduced a new feature for hiding unselected cases.

That feature was later dropped in IBM SPSS Statistics 29.0 as it was confusing users
