Hi,

the 'Create instance' permission in 'Default instance security' tab for a document class permits to which action ?

I don't understand the usage of  a create instance action on a document. Annotations get their own security according with the 'Link' permission.
Contents don't have their own security.

Create Instance access right only has any effect in the Permissions (not Default Instance Permissions) of a Class Definition, and controls the ability to create instances of the class defined by that Class Definition.

The fact that Create Instance is shown as an option in other cases, such as the Default Instance Permissions of a Class Definition and the Permissions of a document instance, is a long standing historical anomaly and should be ignored.
