Can any body suggest us how to use reporting mechanism using File IO Adapter …

The mechanism right now we have implemented is
writing some bunch of Records to our outbound zone and these records are pulling from our database records and appending the data to the outbound file done during that entire day.

So my question is there any way to know the count of those all processed records that have written in to the output file which we are storing in an outbound directory.
and so that we can report the records count in that file we processed.

We are using Enterprise 4.1 and FileIO Adapter for file polling and reading and writing.
