  • 1.  Export from PAfE to a new book

    Posted Wed June 04, 2025 08:39 AM

    Hi,

Currently we can only export the data from the PAfE to the existing excel book in a new tab, but it doesn't create a new excel book, unlike it was doing earlier in the Perspectives. Is there any option to change this to export of the data to a new excel book?

    Thank you in advance!

    Best Regards,

    Shreyas

    Hi Ted,

I am currently on 2.1.6.3 version of Planning Analytics for Excel.

To elaborate my issue, when the users are clicking on the export option from the cube viewer, the export automatically getting generated in a new tab of the same excel file. But I would like to change this setting to generate the export, by default, in a new excel workbook (than a new worksheet).

    Thank you!

    got it, thanks!

i believe expected behavior in PA for Excel is for the pop up viewer conversions is to go on a new sheet for the affiliated/active book, unless there is no book open (in which case it will create a new book to land the content into); but we'll consider how to offer further options effectively.

Always encouraged to file a feature IDEA which will let the community vote it up.

As a workaround, you can convert to Exploration Report and then use the exploration 'Convert To' menu from the ribbon to have greater control over the ultimate destination.
