  • 1.  Exclude command Sysntax for a empty VSAM DSN

    Posted 02/04/20 05:04 AM
    Hello everyone!

    I wanted to ask what is the correct syntax to exclude a empty VSAM Data set.
    Currently, we have tried
    EXCL=(DSN)
    S=X=(DSN)
    EXCL=DSNHLQ=(DSN)
    X=(DSN)
    within our parameters. I am sure this is a simple PEBKEC issue that I am just missing something simple.  Does anyone have any advice?

    I am not so sure the problem sits between the keyboard and the chair, as there is no command in zSecure Collect related to the size of the data set.  I assume you need to create file integrity fingerprints? Do you get unexpected results when the input data set is empty? You would hope that CKFCOLL does nothing strange when the data set is empty.  If it does, please open a Case.

    If you need an EXCLUDE function that filters data sets from the list generated by CHECK=DSNPREF= I have to disappoint.  This is not available.  Please open an RFE.
