thanks for your response. Most of the questions you have mentioned are indeed the questions i have now and i am investigating the best way to implement and monitor Event Server on z/OS in our shops.

During the tests i have also the impression that in error situations the (error) messages created by DataStage TX Event Server are not clear enough to be able to solve a problem quickly. Some error messages do not pinpoint the reason of the problem directly and debugging takes much time.
Also i have the impression that Event Server is sensitive of application errors. we see the Even Server as a system infrastructure and as such we do not like that errors in application would cause troubles in Event Server or will cause a hang up of the Event Server.
Another question we have now is: how much Event Server systems shall we implement ? One for every application or one for all applications ? One Event Server for each and every application would consume too much z/OS resources (and port numbers) but one Event Server for all applications might also create other troubles.
For operations we have the concern how to operate it, as an example, the ISPF interface can not be secured yet so every body could start or stop the Event Server through ISPF (unless we will not implement the ISPF interface).
In short, we have things to consider so every feedback is appreciated,
