Updated the Apptio model and/or allocations to meet a specific business need
I started working on DIM report project in June 2022 and quickly realized that Apptio would be the best option for the Technology & Business Leadership(end user) in terms of tracking the DIM status in Apptio report rather creating the same report in Microsoft Excel, also this allows end users to view the report with additional functionality and more comprehensive view to analysis the data with respect to other applications.
I do upload Apptio data monthly, allocation rules and reports completely. This not only increased our productivity and data accuracy, but it also improved our users' perceptions of TBMO's work and Apptio software. I discovered that Apptio is a more robust reporting tool than I originally imagined after attending Apptio University and talking with Apptio Consultants and Internal IT professionals.
Now we are happy because we allowed end users to have a more complete view and analysis of different applications allowing them to track the cost of various application with respect to DIM status and controls that were previously manual. End users can filter using different criteria such as applications based on different LOBs, Application Mnemonic, Application Name etc.
Please find an overview of my approach in the attached presentation, which shows my implementation steps for creating the reports as requested by the end user in relation to the Application Status. In addition, the presentation includes my findings and lessons learned after applying the Apptio report in our organization.
