I have been using SPSS 29.0 on MacOS Ventura without any problems. However, since a couple of days I can't seem to open excel files into SPSS: when opening an excel file into SPSS the preview works fine, but when I pressed to open it, the SPSS window disappeared. SPSS was still open in my Dock, but I couldn't open it again and had to force quit. Opening SPSS-data files worked without any issue.
Hoping to solve this, I installed the 29.0.1-fix, without any result. Now when I go to open an excel file the preview works fine, but when opening it, it keeps showing an empty data file, with "Running GET DATA" at the bottom. Again, I can't do anything and am obligated to force quit. Opening other files keeps working fine.

Is anyone having the same issue? Is there a fix for this?

Hi. Is it any XL file at all, or this particular one that is the problem? I'm able to open XL files on my Mac using 29.0.1.
