Could it be, that the TL02 is not supported on our platform? If yes, why was the native AIX 6.1-installation (without TL) successful?

I think your machine is a POWER4+ so AIX 6.1 is fully supported and that has not changed with new TL's.AIX 6.1 support any POWER4, POWER5 or POWER6 machine.

Check your firmware from the ibm.com website fixcentral and update if it not the latest.
POWER4 firmware is stablised so its best to run the latest.

I don't have access to look up the error code - try AIX Support for that.
