  • 1.  EGL/RBD support for DB2 XML columns

    Posted Fri July 17, 2015 07:07 AM

    Hello,,

we are using XML colums in our DB2 for z/OS tables. But when using RBD functions  "Sql record" --> "Retrieve SQL"  on those tables, EGL slqRecord definition is generated without XML columns. What are we missing here and are DB2 XML columns supported in the "Retrieve SQL" RBD function ?

    Regards,

    Nenad,

At this time, XML column types are not supported.   I got a message saying that in the EGL SQL errors view when I tried it today.

Please open an RFE so this requirement can be investigated for RBD and also to see if others are interested.

And what execution environment are you wanting to support the XML column.... EGL Java generation and/or EGL COBOL Generation.

This should be part of the RFE since the implementation has to work if we are able to process the column type in SQL Retrieve.
