  • 1.  edit formula dialog box

    Hello together,
we are using the excel addin and just switched from Perspectives to Pafe.

But I'm missing the edit formula dialog box (Formel bearbeiten) really. I found a description in the actual manual for IBM Planning Analytics with Watson, but unfortunately there are no pictures in and I can't find it in my excel menus or dialog boxes.

Is there someone, who knows / uses the edit formula function and can help me, where to find it in the new Excel addin?

    Greetings

    Kirsten

    Hi,

Edit formula doesn't exist in Pafe.  Try right clicking on a view and selecting a custom report (on new sheet etc).  Is like the old 'slice' functionality and should give you a starting point for the formula to save you writing it.

I would recommend taking a look at some of the other new report types - these can be a big improvement depending on the requirement.

For me - the use case for DBRW (etc) comes down to putting info from various cubes/instances together only now (and sometimes not even then).

Thanks James. Yes, I'm exploring the new TM1 world and finding lot of new and very interesting features. It´s an other way to work with the new Excel AddIn also in combination with Workspace.

Nevertheless the edit formula dialog box was a great tool, due to the "scanning the table and offering a full (DRW or DBS) formula"-function, so I didn't need to know the sequence of dimensions and picking the cell references manually.

Perhaps there is a chance to reachtivate this function as an enhancement??? (wink smily)

    Regards Kirsten
