Hello,

I tried installing the Microsoft Copilot plugin to IDZ 16.X and got the below errors. The Copilot team confirmed that I need at least Eclipse v4.28 (June 2023) whereas the IDz 16.X is based on v4.23 (April 2023). Any plans to upgrade the baseline eclipse version for IDZ to allow for Copilot plugin?

Thank you for the question and you are not the first to ask.  You are correct that IDz 16.0.x is based on Eclipse 4.23.  When IDz upgrades versions of Eclipse we do it in the next version; therefore, it will not be included in IDz 16.0.x.  The IDz development team is working on the next version that will be at a compatible Eclipse version, so stay tuned to this community as we will post here when we announce.

It's always an option to submit an 'Idea' (formerly RFE) so customer input is tracked.  This Idea https://ideas.ibm.com/ideas/WCAST-I-83 may be of interest to you.

My company just started using Co-Pilot and was looking to see if there was a plug-in for IDz and found this discussion. So is there no Co-Pilot plug-in currently compatible with the current version of IDz?

Hi Steve, as Joy mentioned above, the current version of IDz is based on Eclipse 4.23.   According to the Eclipse Marketplace, Copilot4Eclipse is compatible with Eclipse 2023-06 (4.28) and more recent versions.  I suppose you could ask the maker of the Co-Pilot plugin if they have a version that is compatible with Eclipse 4.23.
