Customer deploy a new E980 in their data center.
The setup the FSP ip like below:
Primary FSP:
Fsp0 55.200.160.35 netmask:255.255.254.0
Fsp1 55.200.162.28 netmask:255.255.254.0
Secondary FSP:
Fsp0 55.200.160.36 netmask:255.255.254.0
Fsp1 55.200.162.29 netmask:255.255.254.0
It's an dual HMCs environment. When the server connect to HMC, we found the FSP in C3 location become deconfig, and call out SRC B151E6D0.
At the first time, we suppose it's the FSP card issue. So we replace the FSP card and when we finished the replacement from HMC R&V procedure, the FSP return to normal.
Then we connect all the cable, after about 30 munites, the FSP appear to deconfiged again.
After customer check the network configuration from network switch, it turn out that all the four ports of FSP was configured to trunk mode.
So we ask customer to change the switch port to access mode, the problem fixed.
Because it's our first time to find wrong network configuration will affect the FSP in Power system.
Can anybody can explain the why the network issue will affect FSP card to abnormal state?
