How to handle OpenJDK patches
As WebSphere Liberty is supported by IBM it supports afaik only IBM JDK and Semery runtime. The following link https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ibm-java-sdks-websphere-liberty seems to support that. If you'd like to use OpenJDK you'd need to use Open Liberty and see how to get support there. The information at https://www.ibm.com/products/support-for-runtimes and https://openliberty.io/support/ might be helful here.

IBM Runtimes for Business supports OpenJDK 8, OpenJDK 11 and OpenJDK 17 binaries distributed by the AdoptOpenJDK community (AdoptOpenJDK), Eclipse Adoptium (Temurin) and IBM (Semeru Runtimes).For details, see https://www.ibm.com/products/support-for-runtimes
So basically it depends on the OpenJDK version and distribution that you use if support for the JDK is part of the WebSphere entitlement or not.
