My A-ha moments seem to never end. My manager challenged me to put together a presentation showing what my Apptio A-ha moments are. I started with Machine Learning for Cost Pools, and Report Collection Security, then added Row Level Security, Labor Units integrated with Agile Insights and headcount. And the more I thought about it the more I determined that there are even more. Those were just recent items.
How about unspoken secret stuff, that few people know about; like Self Service Reporting, In-Product Runbooks, Action Plans, and Insight Tracker. I recall my early TBM days when I was actually developing the "best practices" like including the source file name and appending to masters to make it easier to trace and track down an issue. How to research over/under allocations. R12 newer components like the Performance Review Component and Usage reporting on steroids. Then there are my all-time favorite functions like sumif and lookupex. Without them, life would be awful. The list keeps going and growing and I tend to learn something new all the time.
So, for old and new TBMA's alike, my advice is to keep learning. I find it helpful to re-watch Apptio University lessons just to reinforce my learning and memory. I challenge you all to re-take one lesson once a month. Jot down something you forgot about or re-learned and post it here. Have you found the pineapple yet?
