I have LPARs running the very same oslevel (7200-05-08-2420). There are minor differences in the LPP filesets and also RPMs.

Both systems give this same result:

# dnf repolist
repo id                           repo name
AIX_Toolbox                       AIX generic repository
AIX_Toolbox_72                    AIX 7.2 specific repository
AIX_Toolbox_noarch                AIX noarch repository

But we have this difference on one system I get this result:

# dnf search enscript
Last metadata expiration check: 23 days, 21:27:12 ago on Sun Dec 22 18:20:10 2024.
======================== Name Exactly Matched: enscript ========================
enscript.ppc : A plain ASCII to PostScript converter.

And on the other:

# dnf search enscript
Last metadata expiration check: 1:00:45 ago on Wed Jan 15 14:47:39 2025.
No matches found.

I've checked the settings in /opt/freeware/etc/dnf/dnf.conf - identical.

I've cleared the caches on the host that can't find the package with dnf clean all But no luck.

Any ideas where I should look next?

enscript rpm is not included in the repo creation as it is too old (2001) to support it. I think the machine which shows the output has enscript rpm installed manually.

Thanks Ayappan - That is probably true, come to think of it. Do you know where I can find instructions for doing RPM builds for AIX? I would like to update this package if possible and contribute it back to the repo...
