  • 1.  DNF fails after dnf update of krb5-libs

    Posted Fri October 21, 2022 01:56 PM
    Hi Folks!
Long time AIX guy, not fan of Opensource but trying..
We are in the process of install DNF to manage all of the rpms installed over the decades.  My env is 7.1 7.2 and 7.3.. working on the 7.1 stuff as I had  a process the worked without an issue.  Last night said process failed.  I have since discovered that if I run dnf update on a working 7.1 install that it end up in the same broken state after the update.
I will paste in the output  below.  Need to know how to fix this.
    Thanks,
    Doug

     # dnf update

    Hi Douglas,

You need to remove the openssl rpm which is shipping incompatible library /opt/freeware/lib/libcrypto.a.
All our toolbox packages built with AIX openssl not against openssl rpm.

They are many forum posts related to this.
Please have a look at the latest one

Thanks!  That did not make sense to me at first but we lucked out and the programs we had compiled against the perzl still work with the IBM ssl installed once his ssl was removed.
Again, thanks for the quick reply and I can now forget about this over the weekend! :-)
