  • 1.  Disconnected lmt_scanner for Ansible

    Posted Tue January 17, 2023 10:00 AM
I've just begun my LMT journey. We are using the Ansible Automation Platform installation instead of BigFix (because we already have Ansible managing our server farm). I am responsible for the Ansible side of the equation (which is deploying the lmt_scanner software to the end-nodes and collecting/transferring the scan results to the LMT server), someone else is responsible for the actual LMT server.

My question is simple - in the absence of the LMT server (SW not yet installed), where can I find the lmt_scanner executables for Windows and Linux servers? All documentation states that I should normally be able to access them from the LMT server, so do I have to wait for that server to be installed/configured or can I acquire those disconnected scanner packages somewhere else so I can test the deployment scripts and fully assess the impact of the scanner software on the end-nodes?

Here's hoping someone can point me to a repository where I can download just the disconnected lmt_scanner executables.
    Thanks!

Indeed there is no dedicated download assembly for the disconnected scanners.
If I were you, I would install the bare ILMT Server on the spare VM (it takes fifteen minutes using defaults) and take the packages from the: /opt/ibm/LMT/disconnected-scanners/
Bit quick and dirty, but it works.
