  • 1.  Disable C11.1.4 Welcome screen

    ​Cognos 11.1.4 has a new welcome screen that users could show/hide, but it is enabled by default.

    Is there a was to change the default setting so it is hidden for all users, or even disabled all together..!

    This may need to be done by your admin.

    Hiding the Show welcome switch

    You can prevent the Show welcome switch from appearing to users.

    The Show welcome switch allows you to choose whether you see the welcome page after you click  Home. The welcome page provides quick access to walk through tours, videos, and embedded samples.

    By default, the Show welcome switch appears. To hide the switch, follow these steps:

    Procedure

    1. Click Manage > Configuration > System, and select Advanced Settings.
    2. Type Glass.welcomeDisabled in the Key field.
    3. Click in the Value field.

      The default value, false, appears.

    4. Delete false and then type true in the Value field.
    5. Click Apply.
    6. Refresh your browser window.
