    Hi All,

    Can any one help me in understanding difference between web server and load balancer.

    when webserver routes the requests to cluster members through plug-in why load balancer is required?

    Hi kalyan,

      Only one question, what happen if you webserver (who is routing your request to cluster members) is down? ;-)
     
      Normally load balancers are in front of your Webservers. They can be software o hardware.
     
      With WAS ND you have licensed Edge Components (software).

    There is also a great webcast for this subject.  It has the diagrams, also talks about Edge Load Balancer Setup and Configurations.
