    Dynamic Channel‑Path Management (DCM)

What is being removed or changed

z/OS 3.2 is planned to be the last z/OS release in which IBM intends to support Dynamic Channel‑Path Management (DCM).

With the removal of DCM, z/OS processing will no longer detect, manage, or display the current status of dynamic channel paths.

Required customer migration or upgrade actions

    Customers should:

    •         Identify environments that use DCM
    •         Remove managed channel definitions
    •         Optionally replace managed dynamic channel paths with static CHPIDs based on capacity and availability requirements

IBM will provide a migration health check to assist customers in determining whether DCM is in use and to help assess migration impact.
