  • 1.  Device Owner - Samsung Apps

    Hi,

    I'm quite new to MaaS360 so hopefully someone can assist?

    I'm setting up device owner deployments for fully managed mobile phones.

    When a Samsung mobile is set-up, System applications such as the Camera App are removed and only the applications I have approved are installed.  Obviously our users still need to use the camera so how do we get I get it back again?  Tried searching the play store for the same App (in this case Samsung A10) but can't find it.

    Hi Andy,

    The Samsung devices generally use the app ID com.sec.android.app.camera for the camera.  I don't believe they host this on the Play store, but if you navigate to the policy and add that ID as a whitelisted app, it should appear on the devices

    Hi Again Matt,

    Unfortunately that didn't work.  Added com.sec.android.app.camera into the whitelist for the Samsung A10 policy, factory reset, added device again. All the apps in the catalogue were installed but the Samsung camera app is still missing.

    Hi Andy,

    You added app ID (com.sec.android.app.camera) on the Android Entrerprise settings or Device settings because it's work for me

    Thank you so much.... I was indeed editing the Device settings rather than the Android Enterprise settings. 

    This now works perfectly.
