We’re in process of upgrading webMethods from 6.5 to 8.0.1.
In our 6.5 environment we just use IS in cluster (2 servers), Broker and TN in cluster (1 transaction type with 5 partners). We’re planning to have the same things for version 8.0.1. Also we’re planning the create users account for our analyst to handle TN transactions via MWS.

In webMethods 8, I would like to understand how clustering TN via MWS would work, since a clustered TN uses a shared Database and also a clustered MWS would also uses a shared DB
My questions are:

1-Do we have to setup MWS in Cluster?

2-What would be the best configuration using MWS for that scenario:«IS in cluster (2 servers), Broker and TN in cluster (1 transaction type with 5 partners)».

Please advice.

– Single instance of MWS can do the job

2-What would be the best configuration using MWS for that scenario:«IS in cluster (2 servers), Broker and TN in cluster (1 transaction type with 5 partners)».

– Whether to use cluster or not is entirely a arch. design decision based on your requirements. It will be difficult to comment on it. I would suggest to engage SAG to help you on this.
