  • 1.  Db2 zos ETL tool

    Posted 01/12/26 08:34 AM

    Hi

Does IBM offer a specific tool or utility that facilitates an end-to-end ETL process entirely within the Db2 for z/OS environment? specifically, I am looking for a solution that can efficiently unload data, apply custom transformations based on user requirements, and load the result into a separate Db2 for z/OS database.

    Regards,

    Shashank

    Hi

If you need the Db2/z Data in near real-time replicate to another RDBMS like Db2 LUW, MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka, etc. You can leverage IBM Data Replication which also support VSAM, IMS, etc as Sources. More detail on the supported sources and targets - https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/idr/11.4.0?topic=requirements-supported-source-targets.

In term of ETL, we have DataStage on-prem (DataStage) or DataStage as a Service (DSaaS) or DataStage as a Services Anywhere (DSaaS Anywhere).

    More information about DataStage -

    DataStage: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cloud-paks/cp-data/5.3.x?topic=data-transforming-datastage

    DSaaS/DSaaS Anywhere: https://dataplatform.cloud.ibm.com/docs/content/dstage/dsnav/topics/datastage.html?context=cpdaas&audience=wdp&locale=en

    Differences between DataStage/DSaaS/DSaaS Anywhere: https://dataplatform.cloud.ibm.com/docs/content/wsj/getting-started/feature-matrix.html?context=cpdaas&audience=wdp&locale=en#datastage
