  • 1.  Datapower Integration module - how to verify I need it?

    Hi all

    We've bee using some non-prod vmware machines,
    and some prod appliances.

    All with 2018.4.1.3 firmware.

    We have Integration Module installed (in "show license" I see dataglue + IMS available YES).
    However I want to know if any of my objects actually require Integration module. 

    Is there an IBM utility that gets a machine's XCFG and states:
    "These are the WSPs/MPGWs/XMLFW etc you have deployed, that require Integration module" ?
    Or even just a binary result, such as "Your current machine config requires Integration Module" or "Your current machine config does not require the Integration Module" ?

    Hi, I am not aware of a functionality you ask for but you can look up this Features Capabilities Comparison PDF which shows which Module is needed for which fucntion. Hope that helps, Peter

    In the resource CD for Datapower there are (were) scripts that you could run on the development Datapower VMs that would disable each of the features. The one you want is idg-disable-Integration.scrypt3

    Run that and then retest all of your code to see if it still works.

    Hi Eli,
    • There is no existing tool that can do the check for you in one step.
    • You can check the *.cfg files for actions like "xformbin"/"cryptobin" and "source-ims" FSH objects.
    • You also want to check your stylesheets etc. for binary functions used (maybe references to FFDs is one piece of that search?) and also for ims usage in url statements.
    • To see what breaks certainly you can test against instances that have the IM feature disabled, as Devin suggests (the disabler/enabler are available at FixCentral, I think search term "tools".
