    Does anyone know how I can change the data values format in a chart?  On the screenshot below, I'd like to make the data values bold and a different color.  @Chris Davidson

    Hi, Doug! Are you using R11 or R12 of Apptio? How you change colours on charts differs depending on the revision you're using.

    Hi Doug.  I'm on R12 also, and I just recently had to figure this out also!  For an individual chart, use the Color Spec field on the Chart tab of the Properties dialog.  You can put in hex format colors like this "Tier 1=#102f5E;Tier 2=#224477" , or easier you can put in the actual colors like this "Tier 1=purple;Tier 2=blue".  You can even say "dark blue" or "light blue", but I don't know how to make something bold.  Good luck

    This works in R12? Great! In R11, putting hex values in the Color Spec field changes the colour of only the bars, not the actual data values. I wish R11 had this functionality. Four more months until R12...

    Arg - maybe no!  I misread your original question.  It only changes the bar colors, not the data value labels.  Sorry.

    Correct, this only changes the bars.  I'm trying to change the data values....the actual numbers themselves.

    I've done a lot of looking into this, and I'm tempted to say at this point that you can't change the colour and style of the data labels.  You can change the colours of the bars (or slices, or whatever), but not the data labels.

    If anyone knows better, please correct me. I'd also like to know how to do this.

    I ran into this same issue, and after some digging I found that you can change the number format in a chart for colors, using the following formula:

    <font color='white'>

    ensuring that a single quote is placed around the color, and that this formula is in the Chart Number Format section of properties within the chart.

    Hope this helps!

    Hei @Megan Kelly ! I'm trying to follow your recommendation. I'm plugging in "<font color='white'>" in the "Chart Number Format" field in the Properties and it's changing removing the metric's original format instead. Can you take a screenshot of what you did? All I need is to change the black font color in a specific chart. Any feedback is appreciated!

    Hi @Richard Coronado! This is what I did for just a normal value:

    You might need to still format the number after this formula if you are pulling in a metric like cost and it is overriding the original formatting. Take a look at the NumberFormat function for some options : NumberFormat function

    #.#{@A} can be used for shorthand and you will need to put this symbol ¤ in the Chart Number format for currency. Here is an example:

    Hope this helps!

    Hello,

    This logic doesn't appear to work for the charts I am putting together. I included the font color along with the additional logic for the metric but irregardless of the color that I put as the "font color" the graph color is still showing as white.

    Does anybody have another work around?

    Regards,

    Jay

    Hello,

    Does anybody have a workaround around the question above?

    I've come across this reporting update again and would like to see if there's a way to change the color of fonts on a graph.

    Regards,

    Jay

    Unfortunately not, @Jaiveer Kahlon. I have changed colors, as pointed out above, but not the fonts. Maybe @Gulcin Menekse knows (she's very knowledgeable in reporting, among other things).

    Hi there community  :)

    I had a play around with this and putting this formula into the Chart Number Format field in Chart Properties worked for me

    $<font color='#0000FF'>#.#</font>{@A}
