Data Table work with %

  • 1.  Data Table work with %

    Hi All,

i try using the new data table but i have the following issue:

If i work with numbers everything is fine but if i work with % value the % is shown correct if we look the lowest level.
If you collapse the data then the numbers are shown correct but the % is done as TOTAL instead of calculated.

Is somebody aware how to solve this to show the % correct once the data is collapsed? As you see the global % is not correct in detailes is ok.

    Thanks a lot

Where is the calculation done? If you calculate in the report query, taking measure margin/revenue, percentage should be aggregated correctly

The calculation is done in the Query. I make a simple report based on the sample database. And in the printscreen i include the same items in LIST and in Data Table. As you can see in the detailed level is calculated correct but in the Aggregated level not.
The same query and items are used for the data table and the List. Also the items which are just SUM are calculated correct. The aggregation if the % is set as 'Calculated'

I must have missed that, when I tested the data table. I see the same behavior as you, so there seems to be issues with other aggregation types than sum, in the data table.

This is a data table limitation currently. We need to implement browser side calculation in order to achieve this. It is on our list to do.

Hello @RACHEL SU have there been any progress on the data table, taking percentage into consideration?
When can we expect this to be released?

    Hello,

Any news on this topic ? Because it really limits the use of this data container...

    Hi,
I was testing functionality in 11.2.4, and see that percentage seems to be correctly aggregated in data table now. I also verified that it works in 11.2.3.
Not sure when it was fixed, but hey, it works now :)
Example, where I have expanded California, showing the percentage for months and state

    Hi,

I tried doing this in version 11.2.4 but the aggregationis still not working, is there anything specific you did?

As I couldn't find the report where I took the screen shot, I had to redo a similar report. When I created it, I saw that it wasn't aggregating as expected, so I believe in my example I have used percentage() to show the share  - which works. But looking at calculations eg. margin% isn't working. Sorry for getting your hopes too high.
