Is it possible to create a Data Source Connection to a Windows Active Directory and then use it, to query data a build reports on this data?

    Hi Mayur,

I don't know if there is a free solution. However, I know there is a solution provided by CDATA:

    https://www.cdata.com/drivers/activedirectory/jdbc/

Text taken from the website: The Active Directory JDBC Driver enables users to connect with live Active Directory data, directly from any applications that support JDBC connectivity. Rapidly create and deploy powerful Java applications that integrate with Active Directory Users, Groups, Roles, Contacts, and more!

There is even a trial version.

Note: I am not affiliated with CDATA.

    Best regards,

    Hi,

As Patrick said, CData is paid solution that is integrated with Cognos.

You can use Jupyter Notebook integrated with Cognos, extract data that you need and write in Cognos to use as source for reports.

Take a look at this package: https://pypi.org/project/ldap3/
