    If you check that option and build your map it will create artifacts (.mts file for each type tree and .xml files for the maps) that are needed to run WTX maps on a DataPower appliance.

    If you leave that option unchecked, building will create compiled maps to be run by the WTX execution engine on the platform you built them for.

    DataPower is a secure appliance sold by IBM that can use WTX maps for transformation. However, it uses its own operating system and engine so maps for that environment must be built differently than those that are run by the standard WTX engines.

    If you don't own any DataPower appliances, ignore this option.
