    I'm having horrible issues when it comes to getting data from GSS to SPSS. All the GSS files are created as .gz, (which is a type I've never seen before). What do I do to fix this? I need to have these files for school, but nothing is even downloading. I know this might seem like a question to be aimed at GSS, but they've been no help and I'm getting desperate. Please, someone help me as soon as possible.

    gz files are zip-format compressed files. You can open them via Winzip or other zip utilities such as IZarc

    I've never had to do that before. Where I do get a program for that (preferably free)?

    Download and install izARC from here

    https://www.izarc.org/download/IZArc_4.4.exe

    Then open the file in that program. You can then extract whichever files you need.
