At Freddie, our TBM office, which is part of the Finance
Division, has direct access to our Financial System. So as part of our
operational process we have created a custom query that allows us to retrieve a
Monthly file with all the transactions at the most granular level possible (Cost
centers/Account combination) so that we can identify via data mapping and
lookups the different cost categories.

David, thank you for participating! I wonder if you could add a bit more detail to help our audience understand the context:

• Assuming it's not homegrown, would you mind providing the name of your financial system?
• Again, assuming it's a commercially available source system, would it be possible to share the custom query? I'm asking carefully as of course I don't want to be asking for something proprietary and confidential.
• Is the data for actuals, budget, forecast, or all of the above? Does it include CapEx?

Hi Ken,

Our Financial System is PeopleSoft. However, I don't think our Query would be of any help, since we have custom build in the relational database. Finally at this point we use only the Actuals data.

OK, I understand that customizations can be significant and unhelpful to others. If there are at least some core tables and/or key joins that you could describe for the audience here, that would be helpful. Some people find value in just knowing where to start!
